How to Download Windows 8.1

As Microsoft has finally released legal downloads for Windows 8.1 we can now safely and legally download it.

Downloading Windows 8.1

Your system must currently run Windows 7 or up to be able to use this tool.
You can use this tool on your laptop or some other PC and download Win8.1 to the USB drive there.

1. Download the mediacreationtool.exe file from http://windows.microsoft.com

2. Open the file, select your preferred Language and then the Windows Edition that you bought. After that, select 64-bit (x64). Screenshot

3. Click on the next button and then select USB flash drive. If you want to burn Windows to a DVD, select ISO file. Screenshot

Before clicking on next, insert an USB Stick into your computer.
Caution: this will erase every single file that is currently saved on the drive.
